Dr. Melanie Telford is a licensed psychologist who specializes in the treatment of children, adolescents and families with experience in Play Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy.
Dr. Telford graduated from Nicholls State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. She earned her Masters and Doctorate of Psychology degrees from the Georgia School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University with an emphasis in child, adolescent and family studies.
She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Miami Children’s Hospital and her postdoctoral fellowship at The Community Reach Center in Colorado where she worked with children, adolescents and families struggling with psychological issues such as sexual and physical abuse, grief, neglect, behavioral disorders and mood disorders.
She has experience working with diverse, disadvantaged and underserved populations in inpatient, residential, child advocacy center, and other mental health facilities.
Additionally, Dr. Telford is a member of the American Psychological Association and The Society of Clinical and Child Adolescent Psychology. Dr. Telford is the mother of three children. She enjoys spending time with her family, swimming, hiking and traveling.
